Glazed Terracotta Patterns: Design Without Limits

Patterns tell a story — and with Rustico’s glazed terracotta tiles, that story is entirely yours. Every tile starts with our durable Saltillo clay base, then takes on new life through hand-applied glaze and custom shaping.

Choose from designer favorites like Arabesque, Hexagon, Herringbone, or Riviera, or explore geometric layouts that play with light and texture. Whether you’re creating a timeless kitchen floor, a striking feature wall, or a full-room statement, our patterns transform spaces with dimension and charm.

Because each tile is handmade and glazed to order, every pattern carries subtle variations that celebrate true craftsmanship. Combine your favorite layout with any color from our glazed color palette to create a look that’s entirely your own — authentic, durable, and designed to last.

With Rustico’s glazed terracotta patterns, you’re not just covering a surface — you’re creating a work of art that reflects your style, your story, and the beauty of handmade design.

We have expanded our handmade Saltillo terracotta collection to include durable glazes, adding colors and a glossy finish to our Saltillo natural clay tiles. These coated Saltillo tiles bear a resemblance to Zellige tiles with their vibrant glazed finish, perfect for both walls and floors. Unlike Zellige tiles, which are primarily used for decorative purposes, our glazed Saltillo tiles are also resilient enough for flooring applications.

In fact, handmade Saltillo tiles are known for durability due to their clay origin in Mexico. The versatility of our glazed Saltillo tiles allows for endless customization options by combining various shapes and sizes with a spectrum of glaze colors. Select your preferred tile layout and color, and we will craft and deliver your colorful tile pattern at an affordable price.

On average, colorful tiles range in price between $10-$20 per square foot depending on the tile shape, size, and quantity. Whether you’re working on a project calling for glazed shower tiles or glazed kitchen backsplash tiles, we work with our clients to find just the right colorful tile pattern for their space and budget.

At Rustico Tile & Stone, we take pride in being a cost leader in our industry. We are the largest Mexican tile manufacturer and distribute from our Texas warehouses to offer affordable prices for luxury, handcrafted tiles. Learn a little more about our story.

Glazed thin brick tile patterns offer a stylish option for interior design projects. These glossy Zellige-like tiles come in various patterns, from classic herringbone to modern geometric designs, allowing for endless creativity in creating stunning accent walls, backsplashes, or flooring. The most popular sizes for thin brick tiles include 3×6, 4×8, and 6×12 inches.

Their glossy finish adds both a decorative look and durability to the brick tiles, making them easy to clean and maintain. Whether you prefer a traditional look or a more contemporary feel, glazed thin brick tile patterns have a rustic, imperfect texture. They’re durable enough for use as colorful floor tiles, too – making them a versatile choice for both residential and commercial settings.

We offer non-glossy options for our glazed tile patterns. While glossy tiles are the most popular, we understand that some projects don’t vibe well with a shiny tile finish. You have a choice of topcoat sealers for tile layouts, from a satin to a shiny finish. Plus, our topcoat sealers for glazed tiles add UV protection and scratch resistance and function as grout sealers, too.

Popular glazed terracotta tile patterns include scallops (fish scale pattern), arabesque, herringbone, and chevron. These patterns offer a mix of traditional and contemporary looks, making them versatile for various design styles. The intricate designs add character and visual interest to any space they adorn.

Pro Tip: Balance tile patterns in a space. For example, decorative terracotta flooring like the Riviera pattern in a kitchen is offset with solid color subway tiles for a kitchen backsplash.  Too many patterns in a space can lead to a sense of design chaos.
